Roma defender Chris Smalling is expected to make his return from injury in Roma-Monza on 22 October.
The Englishman has been sidelined with a chronic tendon injury for over a month which prevented him from taking part in any group activities after the defeat with Milan.
According to Il Messaggero, however, Smalling is nearing the final stages of his recovery and is set to begin group training in the coming days as Roma prepare for the first match after the international break.
The newspaper predicts that Smalling will be fully available for the game against Monza at the Stadio Olimpico.
