Roma defender Chris Smalling was unable to continue the match against Udinese earlier tonight.

The English centreback was part of Daniele De Rossi’s starting eleven in today’s resumed match with Udinese at the Dacia Arena in Friuli.

The Giallorossi had only 20 minutes left to play and Smalling featured in defense alongside Gianluca Mancini.

However, he was forced to come off at the 88th minute with Diego Llorente replacing him.

According to DAZN, Smalling experienced pain in his groin and Roma’s medical staff decided to call him off the pitch.
