Daniele De Rossi will not risk Chris Smalling in tonight’s fixture with Monza.
The English defender, in fact, is projected to remain on the bench for tonight after featuring in Roma’s starting line-up with Torino.
According to il Tempo, De Rossi consulted with his staff and came to the conclusion that it will be safer to have Smalling respect a day of rest as he is not 100% match fit and requires more time to be able to consistently perform from the start following his lengthy absence.
Thus, Gianluca Mancini and Evan Ndicka will replace him in the team’s backline with Angelino and Kristensen helping out on the wings.
