English defender Chris Smalling has not made yet a decision involving his contract renewal with Roma.

The future of Chris Smalling is entirely in the veteran’s hands.

With his current contract set to expire in June 2023, Smalling is now pondering the possibility of further extending his stay in the Italian capital.

Smalling holds a unilateral option in his contract which would enable him to renew with the capital club until 2024 once he completes 50% of all season appearances.

As reported by Corriere della Sera, Smalling’s agent – James Featherstone – recently met with Tiago Pinto, but the meeting did not result in any decision.

The player is also tempted by the advances of Inter who – similarly to Henrikh Mkhitaryan at the end of last season – could propose Smalling a two-year contract.
