Roma defender Chris Smalling is looking to return to Jose Mourinho’s starting formation.
After missing over a month of action due to chronic tendinitis, Chris Smalling is set to make his return to the pitch on Thursday night as Roma face Slavia Praha in the Europa League.
As reported by Il Messaggero, the plan is to have Smalling feature off the bench on Thursday in order to have him start on Sunday versus Inter in a packed San Siro stadium.
Tomorrow, Diego Llorente will start alongside Bryan Cristante and Gianluca Mancini, with Smalling ready to slot in in the second half.
