Andy Mattioli

Roma defender Chris Smalling is yet to make a decision regarding his future at the club.

The veteran centreback’s current contract expires in the summer and Smalling holds an option to extend his stay for an additional year. However, so far the ex-Man United is reflecting on his future.

According to Corriere della Sera, Smalling wants more guarantees from Roma. The 33-year-old wishes to qualify for Champions League football, and this will in turn determine his long-term decision.

Inter and Juventus remain interested in the player, as well as some Premier League clubs, informs the newspaper.
