Chris Smalling’s conditions worsens

Andy Mattioli

Chris Smalling is unlikely to be called up for Roma’s upcoming big match with Inter.

The English defender was initially predicted to feature in the Giallorossi’s Europa League fixture with Slavia Praha in order to be fully available by Sunday.

However, Il Tempo reports that Smalling condition has worsened over the last few days and the Englishman is no longer training with the rest of the team.

The centreback is reportedly afraid of increasing the pain in his muscles and has therefore quit group training.

Roma’s medical staff are monitoring the situation, but for the time being Smalling is unable to contribute to Mourinho’s team.
