Oreste Cinquini, a director of Zenit St. Petersburg, spoke to TMW Radio and was asked about this summer’s dealings with Roma for Manolas and Paredes. These are his words:
Why did Manolas not arrive?
There were family reasons, the family was not very convinced of the transfer. Everything was all done, with both him and with Roma. In the end, the guy had second thoughts and it was only fair to let go.
Paredes continues to grow.
We are expecting him to reach great levels, perhaps at Roma he didn’t grow quickly enough. He has recently played a few important matches, he is now with the Argentine National team and we hope he can achieve qualification for the World Cup in Russia. We expect him to be great just like we do Rigoni and Driussi.
