Former Roma manager Claudio Ranieri was one of the many Roma fans who followed attentively the Giallorossi’s resounding win against their city rivals Lazio.
The ex-Leicester boss was interviewed by Radio Anch’io Sport and asked to share his opinion on the team’s progress under Jose Mourinho.
“Roma play with great ups and downs, but I’ll tell you this,” he said. “Mourinho must be given time, because he’s the right man to carry Roma as high as possible.”
When asked about Zaniolo’s lack of playing time in the Derby, Ranieri dismissed this remark, “Mourinho made the excellent decision to rest him after the midweek fixture. He’ll return once he’s in better condition to do so.”
