Former Giallorossi manager Claudio Ranieri discussed Roma’s latest signing of Romelu Lukaku.

In an interview shortly after Cagliari’s recent defeat with Inter, Ranieri was asked about Lukaku’s impact on his former club.

“I’m curious how many thousands of people will be at the airport tomorrow to greet him,” Ranieri told Sky Sport. “It is certainly an important signing after those of Mourinho and Dybala in previous years.”

“Roma joins the list of teams that can do something important this year. In Conte’s Inter Lukaku did a lot and did it well.”

“He’s a big, powerful player. He must be trained well and must play continuously. I don’t know how much he has trained over the summer, but he has to find the best conditions and then he will certainly be an important player for Roma. He will get to know the Roma environment and will be fully satisfied with it.”
