The dip in the cryptocurrency market throughout the past year could start being felt in Serie A.
According to Italian economic outlet Il Sole 24 Ore, the open-source blockchain DigitalBits, whose logo appears on the front of Roma’s and Inter’s kits, is experiencing financial difficulties.
The reports states that the America-based firm have not been keeping up on their payments to the Nerazzurri—less than one year after signing a four-year sponsorship agreement with the club.
A meeting is expected to take place tomorrow in Monte Carlo between the club and DigitalBits CEO Al Burgio to discuss the situation.
Roma will certainly be keeping a close eye on the situation given there’s two-years remaining on their sponsorship deal with the company. Though, it’s worth noting DigitalBits haven’t delayed or missed any of their financial obligations relating to their agreement with the Giallorossi.
XDB, the cryptocurrency of DigitalBits, currently has a price of $0.038718, down 96.14% from its all-time high of $1.03 last November.
