Roma have a chance to secure their place in the Conference League quarterfinals tomorrow when they host Vitesse in the Italian capital.

The two sides square off tomorrow evening with the Giallorossi holding a 1-0 advantage on aggregate after they won last week in the Netherlands. However, since the elimination of the away goals tiebreaker, Roma boss Jose Mourinho insists his side will be playing to win.

“We played to win in the first leg against Vitesse and we’ll do the same tomorrow,” stated the Special One.

“We traveled to the Netherlands last week with only one goal in mind: to win. We didn’t think about drawing but scoring a goal. We’ve approached each match as an individual and independent game but with the same objective.”

Meanwhile, his managerial adversary, Thomas Letsch, maintained his side can still progress despite their 1-0 deficit.

“The difference between the two teams is small, there’s always a possibility and we’ll have to go and try to score,” said the German.

“We’ve come this far and now we want to do everything that we can in order to advance to the next stage of the competition.”

Tomorrow’s fixture begins tomorrow at 21.00 CET at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.
