Roma attacker Alexis Saelemaekers will undergo surgery in light of the recent injury suffered in the Giallorossi’s draw with Genoa.

After the last-second equalizer suffered against Genoa, the bad news continues for Roma.

In fact, Saelemaekers will remain off the pitch for a long period of time.

The tests the Belgian underwent today showed a compound fracture of the medial malleolus.

Roma confirmed this in an official note.

Furthermore, the club adds, the midfielder will undergo surgery tomorrow to speed up the process.

In any case, Saelemaekers will remain out of action for a month and then resume with re-athletic training.

It will take at least two months to see him back on the pitch, with his return scheduled for the end of November.
