Giovanni Malago, president of the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI), spoke to reporters during an event for the National Sports Facilities Day, organized by the National Council of Engineers.
Malago discussed, among other things, Roma’s stadium project and the progress made, as well as Daniele De Rossi’s future as the team’s head coach.
“Roma’s stadium? I know that things are moving forward, it’s not a project that can be unlocked in a few weeks. But I don’t see any steps being made backwards, in any way.”
“We know how things take time in this country, just talk to an entrepreneur who wants to build a factory or a supermarket. Imagine the stadium which is something even more impactful. But I don’t see any contraindicative elements that could become an obstacle for the successful construction of this project.”
“Roma? De Rossi deserves to have his contract renewed. Given the following that Mourinho had, the choice to replace him with someone like De Rossi seemed to me to be the correct one.”
