German outlet Sport Bild have reported that there was contact between Roma striker Edin Dzeko and Wolfsburg sporting director Olaf Rebbe regarding a potential return to the club for the Bosnian.
Wolfsburg already have Mario Gomez in that role, however, should the club fail to qualify for a European competition, the player will leave the German outfit. Therefore, it’s possible they could look for a new replacement, and Dzeko could be the right name. When asked about Dzeko, Rebbe replied:
“If Edin is on the market and we are looking for a player in that role, then we would seriously think about him.”
