Conte, Morata speak before Roma match

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte and attacker Alvaro Morata spoke today ahead of the match against Roma. Here are their words:

CONTE

How is the team?
We had three starters out, but we have recovered Drinkwater and Kante. Moses needs more time. We have to take it match by match and try to do our best in every match.

You were unhappy with the first meeting (against Roma).
It was a good match, a fair score, and tomorrow will be another difficult match and we just have to do the best in every competition.

Why have you been doing so well this season in the Champions League?
I think our group is a tough group, with Atletico and Roma two really strong teams. To be at the top is very important, we are trying to face all competitions. In this week, we went through to the next round of the Carabao Cup. For sure tomorrow it will be a really tough match and we must pay great attention. We are recovering important players and you know very well how important it is for me to have all the players available.

There are two big matches ahead. Also, what does the return of Kanté mean?
There are two big matches before the international break against Roma tomorrow and United on Sunday. The most important thing is to go match by match, tomorrow is the most important match. We have to try to put all our game in the right result. Then we prepare for another tough game in the league. Kanté trained with us also before the match at Bournemouth. I think it is very important in this moment to speak to the player and important the player’s sensation. I was a player and I know very well after an injury, a bad injury, it is very important to listen to the player which are the sensation. For him and the team, tomorrow we try to make the best decision.

Morata?
I must be honest, I didn’t read his interview. Steve (Chelsea Press Officer) told me about it. Alvaro is a good person and is enjoying his time in London and playing with Chelsea, a great team. I know very well where he is living, it is the same building I lived. A lovely place and not so far from the training ground. Every time I have spoken with him he says he is very happy, with the experience for him and his wife. Last season I was alone without my family. When you work abroad it is good to have family with you. I enjoy my time. I enjoy London and this league, it is a fantastic experience for Alvaro and him in a tough league.

MORATA

How are you feeling?
Now I am 100%, in the last matches I was not at the best of the physical form. But now i am better. It was hard, I stopped for 20 days when finally I had the right condition. Now I feel better.

You have yet to score against Roma. How is it playing with Hazard?
Against Roma I never scored before. We try to do this tomorrow. I play five games, maybe completely 1-2, tomorrow I try to score. Hazard, we have a good understanding, he is one of the best in the world. We just need to play more games.

Coming back to Italy?
It is always a pleasure to come back, I like this country but we are here to get 3 points. It is a very important match for us. It doesn’t matter if it is London, Italy or Spain. All that matters is the 3 points.
