RomaPress – Roma and Roger Ibañez have reached an agreement on a new deal.
The news comes just one week after the agent of Roger Ibañez revealed exclusively to RomaPress that he was engaged in contract negotiations with the club.
The former Atalanta man will put pen to paper on a new deal that expires in June 2025. Ibañez was also handed a significant wage increase from €750,000 to €1.75 million (net) per season.
Upon joining the club last month, Roma General Director, Tiago Pinto, prioritised contract renewals for a number of the club’s key players, which included the 22 year-old.
Discussions between Roma and the defender’s agent, Frederico Moraes, initiated in mid December when the latter returned to Brazil from his holiday in Dubai. Although the negotiation took longer than expected, Pinto’s arrival helped unlock the dialogue and lead to an agreement late last week between the sides.
