With the transfer window nearing its final stages, Roma continue being linked with new names for the midfield under the condition that one between Diawara and Villar leaves the club in the coming days. The Spaniard was not on the bench against Salernitana as part of a ‘technical choice.’

According to calciomercato.com, Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso has been offered to Roma by a series of intermediaries. The French international fits the profile of an experienced player that Mourinho has asked for.

However, the main obstacle in a deal of this magnitude would be Tolisso’s salary which is very high for Roma’s standards: over €7 million per season. Bayern are asking for €10 million of price-tag.

General Manager Tiago Pinto is unlikely to go down this route given the difficulties in offloading other high-paid players such as Pastore, Nzonzi and Fazio.
