Roma midfielder Ante Coric appeared on Roma Radio ahead of today’s second training session. These are his words:
What are your initial feelings since starting?
Everything is going well, I’m happy to be at such a great club – I couldn’t wait to get started.
What are your best technical abilities and your ideal role?
I want to demonstrate my qualities on the pitch. I’m an attacking midfielder so when we play with three midfielders I’m a mezz’ala.
Croatia plays today.
I can’t wait for the match to begin. I’m really looking forward to it. I hope we can do something extraordinary, I think we can make a miracle. I didn’t have to ask for special permission to watch because there’s a TV set-up in the dining room. Yesterday we all watched France-Belgium.
You’re young but have loads of experience.
In terms of football, I’m not young. I’d like to get to 300 matches played as soon as possible. I want to thank Dinamo for the trust they gave to me and for helping catapult me so early in the Europa League.
Why did you choose Roma?
When I heard that Roma was interested, I did not hesitate to say yes, it’s a great club.
There’s quite a few Croatians in Serie A.
We’re a country of 4 million and tonight we play in a World Cup semi-final. I guess we’ve been blessed by the gods (laughs).
Did you follow Serie A before arriving?
I followed Serie A and especially Roma. I watched the Champions League matches carefully and the one against Barca was incredible. I had goosebumps.
