A shocking headline from Corriere dello Sport seems to have caused an uproar in the Italian capital.
The newspaper – with an article penned by Corriere’s chief editor Ivan Zazzaroni – claims Roma are considering sacking Mourinho in case of a negative result this weekend versus Cagliari.
According to Zazzaroni, Roma president Dan Friedkin was already willing to get rid of Mourinho following the Giallorossi’s humiliating defeat to Genoa at the Marassi over a week ago.
However, at the time General Manager Tiago Pinto was able to dissuade Friedkin from doing so.
Mourinho’s future remains uncertain, insists the newspaper. The Special One could be fired this weekend if Cagliari were to beat his side with the Friedkins ready to appoint a new replacement during the international break.
