Cremonese director Ariedo Braida was asked about the rumors linking the newly promoted Serie A side – currently engaged in a fight against relegation – with out-of-favor Roma attacker Eldor Shomurodov.
The player has been pushing to depart the Italian capital for quite some time given his limited playing after falling behind in Mourinho’s pecking order. As a result, Shomurodov has been linked with a move to Cremonese.
Braida confirmed his side’s interest in the ex-Genoa man in a recent interview with calciomercato.it, but also highlighted the player’s unenthusiastic response toward Cremonese’s approach.
“Indeed, we have come forward with a transfer proposal, but sometimes the players don’t appreciate this reality the way they should,” he said.
“Cremonese is a small club with a great ownership and with a fantastic president. Players need to understand we represent an important opportunity. Our position in the table doesn’t reflect this, but we have the ambition and we want to show that we belong in this league.”
