Ex-Feyenoord attacker Cyriel Dessers – currently playing for Cremonese in Serie A – discussed Feyenoord’s chances with Roma in the Europa League.
In a recent interview with Voetbal International, Dessers – who featured in last year’s Conference League final defeat for Feyenoord – remarked, “I have nothing against Roma, it’s a beautiful and big club. I see the final lost separately from the duels I played with Cremonese against Roma this season.”
“Under my social media posts after my goal at the Olimpico, I still saw Feyenoord and Roma fans reacting, going against each other and reminding each other and me of the final. This is part of the mutual rivalry between the fans. This is also nice.”
“Feyenoord have enough weapons, both individually and as a team, to beat Roma. I’m sure, but on the other hand, we had the same weapons in May as well.”
“However, Mourinho and his teams should never be underestimated, especially in a cup tournament.”
