Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante credited his side’s quick start in their 4-0 thumping of Bodø/Glimt in the Conference League.

The Giallorossi ran riot against the Norwegian side, eliminating them 5-2 on aggregate and advancing to the semi-finals where they’ll face Leicester City.

“We had a great game and started really, really well,” he told the media during his post-match press conference.

“We’ve always maintained that this competition is one of our objectives. We’ve made it to the semi-finals and we’re getting closer.”

He continued, “We didn’t let any of the distractions or stories discussed after the first leg get to us. When it comes to a match like this you need to be 100% focused.”

“But in order to achieve our goals, which are the Conference League and fifth place, we need to keep this focus for the remainder of the season. The only way to get there is by staying grounded.”

Finally, “We were already pumped up for this game, but it goes up a notch when you get to play in an atmosphere like we had tonight in the stadium.”
