Bryan Cristante has had a stellar start to the season.

The Roma midfielder has begun the season with solid performances, a goal, and renewed leadership, qualities that earned him a call-up to the national team, over a year after his last appearance.

After the disappointing elimination against Switzerland at the European Championships, Cristante returned to Coverciano with the goal of regaining his place and confidence in the Azzurri squad.

“Gasperini? I’ve rediscovered his playing concepts, the ones I’d already seen in Bergamo,” Cristante told reporters earlier today.

“At that time, I played a little further forward, now a little further back. I think we’re close to what he asks of us; he asks for better management in the offensive phase, but we’re not far off. It’s just a matter of improving the details.”

“In recent seasons, it’s been a few years since we reached the Champions League, and Napoli won the league last year. There are teams more accustomed to being at the top than us.”
