Cristian Volpato joined his Roma teammates in their trip to Japan and featured in today’s press events alongside Tiago Pinto and Tammy Abraham.
The young attacker was asked about becoming a regular fist team starter in this year’s campaign as well as his impressions from working with Jose Mourinho and playing his first derby.
“I want to use this break to train really hard in order to get back to my best self in January,” remarked the former Primavera midfielder.
“I would have certainly liked to go to the World Cup but not right now,” he added. “Mourinho? I am happy to be working with him every day. He always wants to win and in the end, he gets you to win no matter what.”
“Two weeks ago I played my first derby, which we lost, and the feelings afterwards were unlike anything I’d ever experienced, and I can’t explain it.”
