Roma youngster Cristian Volpato, currently away on international duty, addressed the 21/22 campaign which marked his first team debut as well as his first senior goal.
“I already have a new objective in mind: the 2026 World Cup with Italy,” he told Corriere dello Sport.
“I say this without presumption, for goodness sake. I know very well that first I have to pass many other tests. My career has just begun, but I hope to reach this objective.”
On his relationship with Roma legend Francesco Totti who acts as his agent, “It’s a an honour for me to be able to work with Francesco, who is a second father to me, as well as a legend.”
“Before arriving in Rome, I didn’t fully understand what Totti represented for the Romanisti. Now it’s clear to me.”
“He always gives me advice, guides me, teaches me. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to help me grow.”
On Mourinho, “He’s the greatest coach. Already when I was in Australia I dreamed of being able to work with him. And it happened.”
