Damiano Tommasi confident Roma can fight for top position in Serie A table

Former Roma midfielder Damiano Tommasi – who recently was elected mayor of Verona – was asked to address his former side in an interview with DAZN following the Giallorossi’s latest success at San Siro with Inter.

“Roma are showing everybody – as they had already done so also in the final phase of last season – that they can aspire to remain in the league’s top positions, especially if they find continuity in their results.”

“We know that Mourinho is a great coach and that when he has been in a team for a long time he is able to convey his desire to win and his mentality to the players. And the results are showing this trend.”

“The quality and quantity of players make the difference in the long run. We will see what will happen with the cup commitments and with the World Cup halting this year’s campaign. Roma deserve to be up there with the best, and can remain in the top positions until the end.”
