The new Roma is taking shape around a duo that has built significant successes in Bergamo in recent years.
Tony D’Amico is ready to join Gian Piero Gasperini in the capital after terminating his contract with Atalanta, which is expected to appoint Cristiano Giuntoli.
A three-year agreement worth approximately €1.5 million per season is reportedly already in place for the manager.
D’Amico and Gasperini reportedly met in Turin in recent days, the first operational step toward a project aimed at returning Roma to the top.
Together, at Atalanta, they qualified for the Champions League twice in three years, in addition to the historic Europa League triumph.
The new manager will take over in the final stages of some delicate matters, such as the contract renewals of Dybala, Celik, and Pellegrini, but above all, he will have to address the budget issue.
Roma must generate approximately €60 million in capital gains by June 30 to comply with the agreements with UEFA.
The club’s goal is to retain Svilar, considered untouchable, while some sacrifices could affect players like Pisilli, Ndicka, or Koné.
The situation is different for Soulé: an offer exceeding €45 million from Aston Villa would change the outcome.
Meanwhile, a video call is scheduled for today between Gasperini, vice president Ryan Friedkin, and D’Amico himself.
The new manager’s initial technical requests will be discussed: two attacking wingers, a left-back, and potential replacements for players expected to leave. This was reported by Il Messaggero.
