As Roma continue to work on Georginio Wijnaldum’s arrival, Roma president Dan Friedkin is rumored of being personally involved in the ongoing negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Friedkin’s excellent relations with PSG’s Nasser Al-Khelaifi may prove crucial in reaching an agreement for Wijnaldum’s transfer.

Al-Khelaifi seems intent on facilitating the deal for Friedkin’s Roma, as the Giallorossi continue to insist on having the French club cover part of Wijnaldum’s exorbitant wages.

Roma are reportedly willing to cover only €4 million of the Dutchman’s salary, which PSG deem to be too low.

At the same time, the two clubs are trying to solve the details regarding the player’s transfer including various clauses to be inserted in a potential loan deal.

Nevertheless, despite these gaps between demand and offer, Friedkin and Al-Khelaifi’s excellent relations may prove to be enough to push the deal toward a positive conclusion within the end of this week.
