Despite Zaniolo’s initial refusal, Roma are working to convince the player to accept Bournemouth’s proposal.
Roma president Dan Friedkin is personally involved in the negotiations as he is reportedly fed up with Zaniolo and his agent’s behavior over the last few days and has threatened to exclude the 23-year-old from Mourinho’s squad at least until the end of the season.
Friedkin is negotiating directly with Bournemouth owner Bill Foley. The Cherries have not given up on Zaniolo, reports Corriere dello Sport, and are willing to increase his salary up to €5 million/year.
Bournemouth executives are reportedly on their way to Italy to meet with the player’s entourage.
