Daniele De Rossi ahead of Feyenoord showdown: “I feel at home here.”

Roma manager Daniele De Rossi spoke to Roma TV on the eve of tonight’s showdown with Feyenoord in the Europa League playoffs.

The club legend analyzed tonight’s match and discussed the team morale heading into this must-win encounter:

“It will be a delicate match because one of the two will drop out of the competition. We must prepare it with the right focus, without too much fear,” said De Rossi.

“The lads are all experts, there’s no need to motivate them too much. They know fully well how tricky this match is going to be and how decisive the episodes can be. We always aim to win.”

“The first leg in Rotterdam showed we are two teams who like to play football openly – I expect numerous ups and downs throughout the match. Moments in which they will take over, and we will have to make sure that these moments last as short as possible, and once we have possession we must make sure to score.”

“The team? We are honestly getting on really well. Even the positive results that arrived at the beginning gave us confidence and enthusiasm. We’re feeling good now, it’s obvious, then we’ll see when things get worse, let’s hope for the best. From a human and professional point of view, I truly feel at home, not because it is Roma, but because the environment is comfortable, the club provides me with even more than I need.”

“The sold-out stadium? In the first leg, I said that their stadium would not score and would not defend in place of their players and it will be the same this evening but having this incredible support will give us, perhaps, even just 1% more which will perhaps make the difference. I’m very happy with this.”
