Following his disappointing spell at SPAL, the Roma legend is ready to get back into the swing of things.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian federation have added De Rossi’s name to a list of potential candidates to replace former U21 coach Paolo Nicolato who resigned from his post earlier this week.
Italy boss Roberto Mancini is expected to supervise the U21 squad for the next few months with someone like Chiellini, an experienced veteran, to help guide the new coach in the opening stages.
