Daniele De Rossi urges caution and peace of mind while analyzing his own brilliant start to life as head coach of Roma.
Following his appointment in January, De Rossi surprised everyone – fans, media and club alike – by delivering excellent performances and even better results in Serie A and Europa League.
His future – and the possibility of him renewing his deal into a long-term contract at Roma – has become the new focus for most Italian media reports.
Today’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports, however, that De Rossi is the first one who’s not willing to address this topic just yet.
In fact, the Roma legend has asked the club’s top management in the form of the Friedkins and Roma CEO Lina Souloukou to postpone any discussions related to a new long-term contract until May, once the season has come to an end and the club can assess the situation with more objectivity.
De Rossi is fully aware that the team can drop their level and be affected by inconsistency as the schedule will become busier and more difficult with the season winding to an end.
