Daniele De Rossi commends Roma’s preseason progress after Everton match

Daniele De Rossi commented on Roma’s progress in preseason upon the conclusion of the team’s training camp in England.

After Roma’s 1-1 draw with Everton earlier tonight, De Rossi spoke to Roma TV.

“We worked a lot, a lot of training and a lot of intensity. We are happy with both the work of the guys and the incredible facilities that hosted us.”

“I liked today’s first half a lot. I think that if we keep the ball and attack the open spaces as well as we did tonight we can give problems to anyone,” added the Roma boss.

“We have players who are very different from each other: some are better at attacking the depth like Artem (Dovbyk), some are good at coming forward like Mati (Soulé), Enzo (Le Fée), Lorenzo (Pellegrini) and Zalewski. We are a team that is starting to have many characteristics that I like.”

“Today I had a small team meeting because I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that yesterday they put into practice everything I had asked for in the previous days in training. I already had good feelings from there. It’s obvious that this was a training match, but we prepared it as if it were a league match because that’s how it has to be.”

“Here in England the level is so high. We are happy with the first 50-60 minutes played, then we lost a bit of the pitch but we put in a good performance.”
