Leandro Paredes’ decision to return to Roma elicited great enthusiasm among fans and former players alike.
One of the more prominent figures of the club – legendary club captain Daniele De Rossi – went as far as giving Paredes his blessing to wear the iconic 16 shirt number.
In a recent Instagram story, De Rossi – who shared the dressing room with Paredes between 2015 and 2017 and became good friends with the Argentine – gave his seal of approval and complimented the 29-year-old on his return to the Italian capital.
“Welcome back home, my friend,” wrote De Rossi. “This number fits you perfectly.”
