Roma coach Daniele De Rossi was asked about Romelu Lukaku’s current condition and his recent goal-scoring struggles following a particularly bad night versus Inter Milan.

In his post-match presser, De Rossi said, “For me he played the game that everyone else did, but obviously we’re not too happy because we lost.”

“I have already done 5-6 interviews and I can say that matches are won and lost together, if he had scored we would all have been happy. If he continues to create 3-4 chances per game, he will score a lot of goals, then we should give him some breathing room now that Azmoun is back.”

“I’m saying this because there is a bit of left-over fatigue, but Lukaku played a good game. During the week he has a phenomenal attitude with me and with his teammates, no matter how many times he stays to do extra training, he is a professional. With the older players then clearly you have to be demanding and I will talk to him like with all the others, but if we lost we all did it together.”
