Roma boss Daniele De Rossi answered questions regarding Gianluca Mancini’s early substitution in the first half of the 2-2 draw with Fiorentina.
In the aftermath of last night’s thriller in Florence, De Rossi addressed the decision to take Gianluca Mancini off around the 30th minute and replacing him with Dean Huijsen.
“I had the feeling that everyone was trying to bait him into a second yellow card,” said De Rossi in his post-match interview with Roma TV.
“I haven’t seen the episodes but I don’t think he deserved the first yellow card. The feeling was that the referee would throw him out at the next tackle.”
“It’s a shame,” De Rossi continued. “Because it’s never nice to change a player after 30 minutes, but Gianluca will understand and I think he realized it too.”
