Roma are reportedly very happy with how Rui Patricio has adapted to being the second choice goalkeeper following Mile Svilar’s ascent in the team’s hierarchy.
The Portuguese veteran – a regular starter for almost 2.5 years for Roma – was demoted to the bench as soon as Daniele De Rossi took over.
De Rossi picked Mile Svilar over Patricio and the 24-year-old has featured in Roma’s line-up ever since.
According to Francesco Balzani for ForzaRoma.info, Daniele De Rossi has been pleased with how Patricio has accepted this change and despite being only a couple of months away from free agency, the veteran shot-stopper has shown leadership and positive attitude on the sideline.
Balzani suggests that Roma – who will inevitably make Svilar their starting goalie for next season too – are pondering whether to renew Patricio’s contract for another year and make him their second-choice keeper.
