Roma boss Daniele De Rossi spoke to Roma TV at full-time of the team’s defeat to Bayer Leverkusen.
The interview – which aired today – saw De Rossi thank his players for their sacrifice and effort.
“We played a game of great pride, a game of great intelligence. In the first 25 minutes we also created a lot.”
“We knew we were facing a very strong team and continued to play in possession while being mentally calm. We experienced this organized match with the right mentality.”
“Now I can only congratulate my players for their sacrifice, I’m proud of them. When I arrived I knew the situation, I knew that we would have to chase other teams to achieve our goals.”
“If they had told me in January that I would be playing in a European semi-final against the best team in Europe and that I would have fought until the end for the Champions League, I would have signed for it immediately. Now we can’t rest, three very important matches await us.”
