Legendary Roma captain Daniele De Rossi is rumored as a potential candidate to become the Giallorossi’s next manager.
Given the poor results that Roma have collected this season under Jose Mourinho, the Special One’s position at the club is at serious risk: the club owners have yet to make a commitment toward extending Mourinho’s stay and could choose to part ways instead, likely at the end of the season.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mourinho’s exit could spark a search for a younger manager. Hence, the mention of Daniele De Rossi.
De Rossi – reports the newspaper – has all the coaching licenses and paperwork needed to take over Mourinho’s coaching position.
The former Roma captain is still yet to find his next project after a short-lived and disappointing spell with SPAL in Serie B.
He knows Roma and Rome perfectly. According to many experts in the field – writes La Gazzetta dello Sport – he is predestined and therefore today his name being linked with a return to Roma is more than a simple suggestion.
