Roma manager Daniele De Rossi spoke about Leandro Paredes’ growth and impact on the team as the Argentine midfielder continues to impress everyone.
In the aftermath of last night’s 4-0 win over Brighton, De Rossi singled out Paredes’ performance and called out the media for acting surprised at the player’s ability.
“We didn’t prepare the lead-up to that pass which led to Dybala scoring the opening goal. That was all Leandro,” said De Rossi in his post-match presser.
“There wasn’t much time for us to think about such things so I had to trust my players who are all strong. Leandro is strong, he is world champion, he played with PSG and Juventus, he is a strong player, he runs in training, goes fast, I stimulate him, I have confidence in him and I can allow myself to be more blunt with him.”
“I can make fun of him in front of my teammates, highlighting tactical gaps, joking about the things he still needs to improve. I don’t understand why you are still amazed by Paredes, he is world class, talking only about him is wrong, but he played an exceptional match.”
