Daniele De Rossi on the Friedkins’ proximity: “We talk all the time.”

Andy Mattioli

Roma manager Daniele De Rossi was asked about the role Roma President Dan Friedkin and Vice-President Ryan Friedkin have played in his first two months as the team head coach.

Following the team’s win over Sassuolo, De Rossi spoke about the relationship with the Friedkins in his post-match interview with Roma TV – specifically about the fact that Dan Friedkin personally attended tonight’s match, travelling to the stadium on the team bus.

“Yesterday Dan, Ryan and I talked for an hour. We talk about everything, there is frequent contact about everything and every time there is something – even the smallest thing – I ask for it is made available to me.”

“This is the ideal way to work not for me but for any coach. The management are very close to the team. I’m talking about Maurizio Lombardo, Lina [Souloukou] – everyone is giving me a hand because they know that I joined such a big team and with little experience to show for this leap.”

“I needed it, to do the beautiful things we have done so far, I wouldn’t have done them alone. I really needed my staff, the players who gave everything and the club to support me.”
