Roma boss Daniele De Rossi shared some insights into the capital club’s plans for the summer.
Ahead of what will be his first summer and preseason as head coach of the Giallorossi, De Rossi spoke highly of Roma’s ambitions as well as his rapport with recently appointed technical director Florent Ghisolfi.
During the event The Coach Experience organized by AIAC, De Rossi spoke to the media about preparations for next season.
“I approach the new season with great enthusiasm and a lot of work, perhaps too much work, I’m there in Trigoria every day. But there is a need to talk to the director and the club. This will allow us to achieve good results for the future.”
“Yesterday we had a long, nice meeting on what our objectives are and what our future will be, so in 10 years I will perhaps take some holidays and move away from Rome. But for now I want to stay there, I need it.”
“The missed Champions League qualification? We weren’t unlucky. Bayer were better than us and we want to improve in the long run.”
“Ghisolfi? We are working well together,” he added. “Although we speak two different languages we speak English together and that works well for us. I get on well with both him and his collaborator Simone Ricchio together with Lina, Maurizio and all the people who have already worked with me.”
“My ideal version of Roma? I want the team to have attitude and hunger and play positively with the willingness to come off as the better team.”
“That is the foundation to allow us to do great things. I want to see the same hunger we played with against Brighton, Milan or Lazio. That’s what we want and we cannot allow ourselves to accept anything below that.”
