Roma head coach Daniele De Rossi analyzed the mistake that led Roma to concede Feyenoord’s opening goal last night.
The Italian technician spoke in detail about this episode in his post-match interview with Sky Sport, taking accountability for what happened.
“The basic mistake is mine because if you repeatedly concede similar goals then it means the coach must do something to fix this issue. This week we had few training sessions, but in one session we touched on this aspect a lot because if we want to fill the area, we have to know that if the opponent does the same it is dangerous.”
“We have to cover the space better before the cross comes in. In that instance we had occupied the space of the goal but the midfielders and central defenders must pick their men better. I have to work harder and better at this.”
“Now Ndicka will come. I have never trained him. We will have the opportunity to work further on this.”
“Looking back on our recent games we’ve conceded too many goals like that. It means I have to wake up and come up with something.”
