Daniele De Rossi paid special tribute to his players in the post-match press conference that followed Roma’s 1-0 win over Lazio.

The club legend addressed reporters after the game and lauded his team’s performance, calling it ‘perfect’.

“I liked everything today, I also what we did with the ball in the first half, although we could have been more aggressive in the last 30 metres,” said De Rossi. “The team kept control of the ball and conceded very little.”

“I’m happy with what they did tactically. From a temperamental point of view they were fantastic, perfect, the derby should always be played like this.”

“I told them that if they played like this the result would come, and if it didn’t come I would still shake their hands,” he added.

“In the derby you need to be rude, a bit ignorant, without doing the shit I did, leaving the team down to 10 men. The boys were impeccable.”
