Daniele De Rossi is reportedly eager to reunite with former Roma teammate Nicolas Burdisso.

Following the club’s announcement of De Rossi’s imminent contract renewal, the Giallorossi head coach is said to have asked Roma to pursue Nicolas Burdisso as their new sporting director.

Burdisso – with whom De Rossi played for many years and worked during his brief his spell at Boca (at the time Burdisso acted as Boca Juniors director of sports – is currently serving as Fiorentina’s technical director.

However, his future seems to be uncertain and La Repubblica claims this may be due to Roma’s interest in him.

Burdisso’s chances of landing the job in the Italian capital are reportedly steadily increasing, with De Rossi personally pushing for him to join as he considers Burdisso’s familiarity with the Roman environment an important asset.
