Roma manager Daniele De Rossi was officially appointed long-term head coach of the club earlier on Tuesday.

The legendary Giallorossi captain will continue managing his boyhood club for the next three years following Roma’s announcement of his new deal.

A few hours the announcement came through, De Rossi shared his reaction to the news in a post on Instragam.

In it, De Rossi thanked the clubs and the fans for their confidence in him despite this being his only second coaching experience.

“We first told each other about this 2 months ago and today it’s black on white, but above all yellow on red,” wrote the Roma boss.

“As a child, as a boy, as an adult, as a man. For Roma and with Roma for another three years,” he continued.

“Thank you for the trust I have felt from day one. My staff and I can’t wait to start working again to bring this team back to where it deserves to be. Forza Roma. Daniele.”
