Roma legend and current SPAL manager Daniele De Rossi tipped his hat to Giallorossi supporters in a recent media appearance ahead of his side’s upcoming match with Venezia.
De Rossi compared SPAL supporters and their backing of the team to Roma’s, especially when playing away from home.
“I always pay attention to how fans support the team. With Roma it practically felt like we were always playing in front of a home crowd even when we were far away from the Olimpico,” De Rossi told reporters. “I feel like the same applies to our fans in Ferrara.”
“There is a great sense of belonging and identity, it is perceived in every corner of the city and I am angry because we are not giving back to our fans all the love they give us,” he concluded as SPAL are on a losing streak.
