Tomorrow evening’s crucial return leg of the Europa League quarterfinals between Roma and Milan will be overseen by the Polish match official Szymon Marciniak.

The Giallorossi have met Marciniak twice, losing on both occasions: against Real in the 2016 Champions League round of 16 and against Porto in the 2016/2017 preliminaries.

At that time, Roma finished the match with 9 men after the sending off of Emerson Palmieri and Daniele De Rossi with the final score line of 3-0 in Porto’s favor.

This will be the first time Marciniak referees Roma and meets with De Rossi since that infamous debacle at the Stadio Olimpico 8 years ago.
