Darboe likely to be sent out on loan

Ebrima Darboe will soon renew his contract with Roma. However, the 20-year-old midfielder will most likely leave the Italian capital in the coming weeks.

According to Il Messeggero, with Cristante’s return from the summer break, Mourinho is expected to start him alongside Jordan Veretout, making Diawara, Bove and Villar their respective substitutes. As a result, Darboe might be excluded from the current first team come the new campaign’s opening.

The Italian newspaper claims that the Roman club believe in the 20-year-old and want him to get consistent playing time, preferably on loan at a Serie A side.

It remains to be seen whether Roma will try and find an additional midfielder to an already clustered department. As stressed by the club itself, the priority right now is to get rid of players excluded from Mourinho’s plans at the start of preseason.
